Appeal Court Declines Jurisdiction Over PDP Leadership Crisis Zamfara

The Court of Appeal sitting in Sokoto has judgement delivered against Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman in Zamfara State, earlier affirmed by a Federal High Court in Gusau.

In his ruling, Justice Frederick Oho said the  the court set aside the earlier judgement for lack of jurisdiction.

According to Justice Oho, the courts had no business interfering in political parties affairs on how they ran their party and how they chose their candidates for elective offices.

Senator Ali Modu Sheriff led National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had earlier dissolved the Zamfara State executive committee of the party led by Senator Nasiha.
