Go Beyond Positions In Party Politics, Osinbajo Urged APC Young Aspirants

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has called on young political aspirants under the All Progress Congress, APC, to go beyond getting into position in party politics, whether elective of appointed and be committed to the principles and beliefs of those  those who are forebear of the party.

Citing an example, Osinbajo revealed how he remained a loyalist to his political party even when he did not get any board appointment for seven years after serving as the Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice in Lagos State in 2003, under the Alliance for Democracy, AD, under the government Bola Tinubu.

The Vice President advised was contained in a statement by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the Vice-President, Laolu Akande on Thursday.

According to Akande, Osinbajo said this during a meeting with young aspirants under the All Progressives Congress at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

“I believe that, in party politics, we must go beyond positions, whether elective or appointed, but we must be committed to something, the principles and beliefs of those who are the forebears of that party,” he said.

“As a young person, I belonged to several pressure groups. I graduated at the age of 21. And when I graduated, I began to participate in various pressure groups, human rights organisations, and anti-corruption, civil society groups of every kind.
