PDP Rejects Announced Result of Plateau Local Government Election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the results of Wednesday’s local government elections conducted in Plateau state as announced by Plateau state independent electoral commission, PLASIEC.

Announcing the results on Thursday morning in Jos, Chairman of the Commission, Fabian Ntung, declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of eleven out of the thirteen chairmanship positions.

He however explained that the elections for Langtang North and Mangu LGAs were declared inconclusive as a result of ballot box snatching and other electoral irregularities.

While briefing journalists at the party’s secretariat, Chairman of the PDP in the state, Hon. Damishi Sango described the results as fraudulent.

Sango alleged that collation was still ongoing in 13 Local Government Areas of the State when PLASIEC announced the results.

According to him, ”We have it on good authority that PLASIEC has just announced the names of the so-called winners of the election, and that Governor Lalong is planning to swear in the said winners later in the day, while results have not been announced.”

Sango called on all well-meaning people of Plateau State to reject the Governor Lalong’s desperation to subvert the people’s will.
