ICPC Arrests Maimuna Aliyu, Maryam Sanda’s mother In Court Premises

Maimuna Aliyu, the mother of Maryam Sanda who is standing trial for the murder of her husband has been arrested by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over fraud.

Maimuna was seen taken away into a white Toyota bus immediately she stepped out of the FCT High Courtroom in Maitama where she is standing trial along with her daughter Maryam and son, Aliyu Sanda over alleged involvement in the death of Bilyamin Bello, husband of Maryam and son of former PDP national chairman, Haliru Bello.

Daily Trust report that, sources said she is being taken to the office of one Mrs. Akiyade on the 2nd floor of the ICPC building.

Maimuna, a former Director with Aso Savings and Loans, was arrested for failing to honour an invitation sent to her by the ICPC concerning a charge before Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

She reportedly said she wasn’t comfortable going to the ICPC because she “doesn’t trust them”.

According to the newspaper, upon getting to the ICPC office today, Maimuna was served with a new charge.
